How To Find The Best Internet Marketing Company for a National or Local Campaign

PPC (pay-per-click), one way link building, and on-page optimization are the three components you need for successful internet marketing on a national or local level, and they are each their own industry/specialty. It is rare to find an internet marketing company that truly does it all, well, and in-house. Many outsource... I know, because I am contacted to be a partner to web design and PPC companies frequently, for the on-page seo portion. Proven on-page search engine optimization specialists are hard to come by.

Most often, with the BIG internet marketing companies, you are assigned an account manager, who is a sales rep, so you are not dealing with the actual person(s) with the SEO expertise. I would ask to speak with each person in charge of performing the work on your site, the PPC, on-page optimization, and link building services. It's a good way to find out if they are outsourcing, and if you will be paying for middle men.

It is prudent, in my experience, not to put all your eggs in one basket... because if one thing goes wrong, it can all go wrong. It also makes it very hard to make a switch, if you find you could be better served in one of these crucial areas to your internet marketing success.

I would consider hiring the companies that rank high nationally on Google for the following most popular industry terms. This is only fitting if you are expecting them to get you ranked high nationally for your industry's top search terms.

It will probably be hard to find one internet marketing company that makes the list for all, which will only validate what I'm saying in this article. If you're in need of a successful local internet marketing campaign, conduct the same Google searches with your area (like Dallas) added to the front and again to the end of the search... i.e. "dallas internet marketing" and "internet marketing dallas"... and see if you can find one organization or person that is consistently in the top 5 or even first page for all the ingredients.

Bottom line, it's okay to have it all under one roof, as long as the internet marketing company is being upfront about any parts they are outsourcing, and can show you how the company they are partnering with ranks for their respective top industry keywords... even if their own company site doesn't. Make them prove their expertise... and check references and their clients rankings.

It is invaluable to any optimization effort, is only $175 per year, per website to join, and gets you approximately 250+ quality (Google PageRank raising) one-way incoming links. If you are an existing SEO client of mine, who has already paid my minimum retainer, I can handle the installation and implementation for my normal hourly fee... It usually takes about a half hour per site... or your own webmaster can easily do it.

There are other things that can be done to boost your Google PageRank, like acquiring links in the top directories. Some are free, some fee based. Here is an article I’ve written about off-page optimization that explains in detail, and has a link to the top directories listing, with associated costs. You could save a lot of money by doing it yourself, or having a secretary do it.
