How To Find The Best Internet Marketing or SEO Company

Web design, on-page optimization, backward link building and PPC (pay-per-click or sponsored links) are the four main ingredients for any successful internet marketing campaign.

There are industry specialists for each of these components, and it is rare to find an internet marketing company that truly does it ALL well, and in-house.  Many of them outsource.

Big (expensive) internet marketing companies will assign you an account manager (sales rep), so you will not be dealing with the actual people performing the various functions of the SEO.  I would ask to speak with everyone who will be working on your site.  This is a good way to find out if they are indeed outsourcing and if you will be paying the middle man.  I know, because I get asked to be the middle man or middle woman :-) frequently, that the mark-up is outrageous!

It is prudent in my experience (based on many horror stories), not to put all your eggs in one basket.  If one thing goes wrong it can all go wrong, which can make it very hard to make a switch to another internet marketing company, if you find you could be better served in one or all of the crucial areas governing your success.

Tip:  Register your domain name and order your web hosting yourself, or at least make absolutely sure that both are in your name and not dependent upon you using any particular company, so that they cannot hold your site hostage if you want to make a change.

Consider hiring companies that rank high nationally or locally on Google (depending on the type of campaign you yourself want to launch) for the most popular industry terms given below.  This is only fitting, if you are expecting them to get YOUR SITE RANKED HIGH nationally or locally for your industry's top search phrases.
